This highlights our aim to measure, monitor and reduce our carbon footprint, and proves our commitment to environmental sustainability.
The Planet Mark recognises outstanding achievements and commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability. It measures a business’s carbon footprint and encourages reduction on an annual basis and only those companies that can show reduction year-on-year are awarded this accolade.
Versapak protecting the rain forest
As a result of our commitment to The Planet Mark, we are protecting an acre of endangered rain forest to tackle climate change and protect biodiversity. Our pledge goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru. How did Versapak achieve The Planet Mark Certification?
Reusable Products
Through our extended lifetime testing, we have proved that our bags last for more than 2,000 uses. Using Versapak bags instead of the single-use polythene alternative will make a hugely positive impact on the environment.
Recyclable Products
Versapak launched a return and recycle programme for our used plastic seals. Not only that, we also manufacture all of security seals entirely from plastic waste that was originally destined for landfill.
Business Improvements
Versapak recognises that our employees can make the biggest improvements in our sustainability efforts. We encourage all members of our team to scrutinise all business functions that impact the environment, and always strive to reduce emissions associated with our business. These issues include - waste, water, building emissions, procurement, and travel.
Versapak continually look for improvements in how we work with our customers and suppliers and how we conduct ourselves as a company. We are proud to be holders of The Planet Mark.
