Versapak is proud to support the SAPU team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital with a new, eco-friendly solution for securely storing patient belongings.
Our journey with SAPU started when the husband of an RNOH patient identified an opportunity to replace the hospital's single-use plastic bags. Drawing on his experience in the bag industry, he collaborated with SAPU’s Ward Manager, Sam Goonan, and Versapak’s team to develop a sustainable alternative that met the high standards of the healthcare environment.
The result? A reusable property bag designed to keep patients' personal items safe and secure. The bags were tested in a pilot run and received outstanding feedback from patients and staff for their practicality and durability. Built to be reused over 2,000 times, these bags significantly reduce waste and help hospitals lower costs while contributing to a greener future.
Key features of our patient property bags include:
- Generous storage capacity for various items, from coats to wash bags
- Strict compliance with infection prevention standards
- Two available sizes to meet different needs
- Unique identification numbering for quick and easy identification
Our tamper evident security seals provide peace of mind, ensuring the safety of personal belongings. Once used, these seals are returned to Versapak for recycling, completing the sustainability loop.
With convenient collection points across the wards, these bags are swiftly cleaned and returned for use by the next patient.
At Versapak, we’re committed to helping healthcare providers implement practical, sustainable solutions. For more information on our tamper evident products and their applications, reach out to us today.
